Parent Spotlight: Where Learning Feels Personal
When Elise and Dave chose The Academy at St. Joan of Arc for their two older children, they were looking for more than strong academics. With one child in kindergarten and another in preschool, they wanted a school that would nurture their character, celebrate who they are, and help them grow into kind, confident individuals.
“The Academy is an amazing community,” Elise shares. “The teachers and staff are excellent, and they truly care about every child.”
Elise especially values the school’s focus on character education and inclusivity. As an independent Catholic school that welcomes students of all faiths, The Academy creates an environment where kindness, respect, and empathy are part of everyday learning. “It’s important to me that my children are learning not just academics, but how to be good people and how to respect others,” she says.
She also points to the deliberate class sizes as a key reason her children are thriving. With more personalized attention, teachers can truly know each student. “Every kid is known by name,” Elise notes. “My children are doing so well because their teachers understand what they need and support them every step of the way.”
For Elise, watching her children feel confident, supported, and included has affirmed her decision. The Academy at St. Joan of Arc isn’t just a school—it’s a caring, inclusive community where children are known, valued, and guided by strong character.
