Parent Spotlight: A fresh start made all the difference

May 08, 2026
By Nicole, Parent of one ASJA Student

When Nicole decided to move her son to The Academy at St. Joan of Arc, she was looking for a school that would both challenge him academically and give him the consistency he needed to grow. What she found went beyond what she had hoped for.
“I really value the strong academics and the structured, accountable environment,” Nicole says. “I’ve seen a complete change in my son.”
Nicole credits The Academy’s balance of high expectations and care for helping her son grow both academically and personally. The consistency, clear expectations, and encouragement from teachers has given him the confidence and stability he needs to succeed.
She also points to the school’s culture as a defining factor. From his first day, her son was welcomed by classmates and teachers who made him feel like he belonged. “It wasn’t just that people were friendly,” she says. “The kids genuinely look out for each other.” That sense of community gave him the social confidence to match his academic growth.
Just as important to Nicole is the strong partnership between parents and staff. She describes the Academy as a place where families and educators work together, creating a truly inclusive community focused on what’s best for each child.
For Nicole, moving her son to The Academy at St. Joan of Arc was more than a change—it was a turning point. One that brought academic growth, renewed confidence, and a sense of belonging she’s grateful for every day.
